Memorable nursery

This time I would like to tell you my memorable nursery. It isn't like Omiya's famous nurseries nor Kinashi's but Koukien certainly gives you a cozy nook.

香輝園4
It's written "shohin bonsai Koukien".
Koukien is my very first step into bonsai.
Actually the nursery owner is our matchmaker.
I confess that I'd met my husband here beore we get married.Literally Bonsai marriage.

There are quite number of nurseries in Japan which are not on phonebook nor on the internet.Koukien is one of them. As you can see the nursery's tree aren't high class though they are very reasonable and good materials. I can assure you enjoy creating your ideal trees.

New tools

I always borrow tools whenever I work bonsai from my husband.
But not from today.

newtools

These aren't Masakuni, I know my level isn't that stage but I am satisfied with them very much.

Nice to see you, Rootie!

I am very very happy with this.

ニオイカエデ発根
Nioi maple on the air layer.
My husband teased me a lot like"This is just a biginners luck"or"Next time I'll do airlayer as rough work"etc.
No matter what he says my first air layering seems to be in succeed.I know this is the first step but I can't stop saying"BANZAAAII!!"

According to my husband, he insists that this is real Kurama stone. I have no idea.
Can you see the diference between them?
To my surprise, the price was cheaper than Kurama-like tamari stone.
I assure you that you would kill my husband if I tell you these prices. He is a really good bargain hunter.

Cuttings

I did cutting for Japanese quince.

japanese quince for cutting
Saddly, I never succeeded in cutting for them.
But this time,I prepared very carefully so that everything will go smoothly...I hope.

Need Vidal Sasoon?

In the middle of mekiri, my husband had managed to escape from his work.

Camellia is one of my favorite bonsai maetrial.

台木
This time I tried grafting "Tama-no-ura" to sasanqua camellia but it was ended with unsatisfied.
These stocks are too big to graft. (except one at the top )
They are going to have ugly trunk with lump....oh la la!

接ぎ穂
Tamanoura scion. I should have cut it about 5〜8cm.
This is too long.
